fjall + happy holidays

i'm now officially done school for the year but still have a few papers to write {including my honours thesis - yikes!} and then will be off to copenhagen for christmas. so i'll be taking a bit of a break here for the rest of the month. i'll still be posting randomly on my tumblr, otherwise i'll be back in the new year. have a lovely holiday! {photos of fjall via remodelista}

fine little day holiday home tour

i liked the tour of elisabeth's home that was over here today, such cute holiday decorating. especially the "rudolph" switch. can't wait to watch that old movie, it totally makes it feel like it's really christmas time.

noel bazaar

i went to the annual noel bazaar tonight and was overwhelmed by all the pretty things. i especially loved the leather goods and tiny bunnies at bonspiel, so cute!

highlands

i love the interior of this scottish gastropub in nyc. the mix of leather, brick, tartan and pheasant wallpaper is a nice take on a modern hunting lodge look. i also like the architectural details like the reclaimed fireplace and hanging lanterns. it has such a cozy feel but still looks cool. {via remodelista}.

olivia bee

i'd heard of olivia bee a while ago but was reminded today by erin again of how much i like her work. her images have the perfect mix of nostalgia and dreaminess that everyone seems to love, pictures that look like memories. i seriously can't believe that she is only 15. makes me miss when i had all the time in the world to make things and run around with friends, i should do more of that.

the nutcracker ballet

today i'm going for afternoon tea with my mom and then to the nutcracker ballet. i'm so excited, it's my favourite way to start the christmas season. happy weekend! {photo via besimo}

handmade gifts

i'm really hoping to make most of my christmas presents this year. it's so much nicer than rushing around the malls full of people and annoying carols. i decided i'd either order gifts online from places like etsy or amazon or hand make things. so i've been scouring martha's site and her encyclopedia of crafts trying to find some easy crafts to squeeze in between studying for exams. most of them are baking related since martha has the best baking packaging, plus some quick beading or wool crafts. all found here.
